Okay, I’ll let you in on my geeky love of statistics and numbers…
One of my favourite things about blogging is trawling through the stats I get from Google Analytics. I get to learn a little bit about you lovely readers (e.g. did you know you guys are spread out across 104 different countries?!) and what brought you to my little blawg.
The most insightful information is discovering which search terms led people here. It’s generally quite easy to identify which are the Partners of Gamers, and of those, I have found that their intentions for Googling fall into several broad categories.
Firstly, there are the partners who only mean well for their gamer:
cute present to make gamer boyfriend
perfect date when you have a boyfriend who likes dota
what to make for your boyfriend that likes league of legends
Then there are the partners who have slightly more sinister thoughts:
how to trick my boyfriend to play less video games
stop my gamer boyfriends freakin loud keyboard
tip unplug hide gamers stuff
And then you have those who are seeking advice, or at the very least, seeking some form of confirmation that they are not the only ones having trouble dealing with their partner’s hobby:
how do i get my boyfriend to pay attention to me when he loves diablo 3
i know my boyfriend loves me but why does he play computer games so much?
should i leave my husband who plays too many computer games?
I might sound silly, but for me, knowing that so many people are seeking advice for these issues, that is my main motivation for blogging. Although my posts are meant to be a fun (and sometimes cheeky) log of what it is like to be dating gamer, my major objective has always been to try to help other Partners of Gamers reach that happy level of understanding that I have found with my partner’s hobby.
I do hope that the individuals Googling out of desperation/frustration have been able to find some comfort and understanding through my posts <3
Oh, and I do often get the odd search terms that I’m not really sure I can help with…. ಠ_ಠ
is it okay to smell a bit like plastic as a gamer

Those are pretty cool – they do give you some good insight. I too spend a lot of time looking for trends just to see what sort of gaming articles are generating the most interest from people hitting my blog.
Interestingly enough, I didn’t find you through any searches. Someone who followed my blog also was following yours. I tend to look at what my blog followers read so I can find other similar blogs and check them out for myself, and that’s how I found this site. :)
